Custom web application development for growing businesses
When spreadsheets, group chats and a few disconnected apps are running your business, it's time for software built around how you actually work. We do custom web application development for small and growing businesses: admin dashboards, staff portals with roles, customer portals and custom CRMs, built on Next.js and Postgres and hosted on our servers if you want.
Most web app projects are a mix of the pieces below. Many combine two or three of them in one app.
Admin dashboards and back offices
One place to see and run the business: leads, jobs, orders, bookings, invoices and tasks, with the things you check every day on the first screen.
Staff portals with roles
Each person signs in and sees what their role allows. A coordinator manages the schedule, a field worker sees only their own jobs, and an admin manages users. Permissions are checked on the server, not just hidden in the menu.
Customer portal development
A private area where your clients sign in to book, pay, download files, check the status of their work or update their details, instead of emailing you for each of those things.
Custom CRM development
A CRM shaped around your pipeline: your stages, your fields, your follow-up rules, your call queue. It makes sense when a generic CRM forces daily workarounds, or when your sales data needs to sit next to the rest of your operations.
Internal tools and booking platforms
Intake forms that save to a database, estimate and invoice builders, import tools, approval queues, and online booking and scheduling systems with payments built in.
These are real projects, not mockups. Where our work pages show screenshots, they use demo or blurred data.
Márquez Realty Group: property website and private CRM
A real estate brokerage in Baja California needed one system for listings and leads. We built a public property site in English, Spanish and French, plus a private CRM for the staff: leads, follow-up sequences, tasks, a calendar, an email inbox and WhatsApp conversations. Agents capture a listing on their phone at the property, and the app publishes it to EasyBroker, with checks that keep duplicate listings out.
Book With NAV: a booking and production platform
For NAV Productions, a real estate photo and video studio, we built the platform agents use to book and pay online. The studio runs crew scheduling, media delivery to a client portal and crew payouts from the same system. It runs on XOLBY, the booking platform we built and maintain.
Oremos: a church app with staff roles
A prayer app for Iglesia Evangélica Nueva Visión. Members send prayer requests, and the prayer team verifies and manages them from a staff panel. There are five roles, from member to admin, and new sign-ups wait for an admin's approval.
Tulip Landcare: a website with a back office
A landscaping company's site rebuilt in Next.js, with a back office behind it for leads, a call queue, estimates, jobs, invoices and email campaigns.
Custom isn't always the answer. If a SaaS tool already fits how you work, keep it: it costs less to start and someone else maintains it. This is how we think it through when you ask us.
A SaaS tool is usually enough when
Your process is close to how most businesses in your industry work
One subscription covers it and the workarounds are minor
You don't need that data joined up with your other systems
You'd rather not own software that needs looking after
A custom web app fits better when
You pay for several tools and copy data between them by hand
Your staff work around the tool every day
You need roles and permissions the tool doesn't offer
Customers or partners need their own portal into your data
The way you work is part of what sets your business apart
The tech behind it
We build with widely used, well-documented tools, so another developer could read and work on your app later.
Next.js and React for the screens your staff and customers use
PostgreSQL for the data, with a typed schema (Prisma or Drizzle)
Logins and roles with Auth.js, with permission checks on the server
APIs and webhooks to connect your CRM, payments (Stripe, PayPal), email and outside services such as EasyBroker or WhatsApp
AI models such as Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude where they save real work, like turning a photo of a paper form into text or drafting listing descriptions
Yes. We start by reading the code and the database to see what's worth keeping. Sometimes the right move is to fix and extend what you have; sometimes a rebuild is cleaner. We'll explain which and why before you commit to either.
Can it connect to my CRM or other tools?
Usually, if the tool has an API or webhooks. We've connected apps to EasyBroker, WhatsApp, Stripe, PayPal and GoHighLevel. Tell us what you use and we'll check its API before we quote.
Who hosts the app?
We can host it on our own servers, with the domain, DNS, SSL and nightly off-site backups handled, and one person to contact when something needs attention. If you'd rather host it yourself or on a platform like Fly.io or Netlify, we'll set it up there.
Can the app be in English and Spanish?
Yes. We work in both languages, and one app can serve both, with each screen and email written properly in each language. The Márquez Realty Group site, for example, runs in English, Spanish and French.
How do we start?
Book a call or send the contact form with a few lines about the problem you want to solve. After the call we write up the scope and a quote. Nothing gets built until you approve it.
