Restaurant website design your staff can update and guests can use in seconds

A restaurant site has one job: get a hungry person from a search to your menu, your hours and your address in a few taps. We build fast, phone-first sites with menus your team can edit, menus in English and Spanish, and online ordering that fits how your kitchen already works. We don't have a public restaurant project to show yet, so this page explains what we would build and why, using the same pieces we've shipped for other businesses.

What guests look for first

Most restaurant visits start on a phone, often from Google Maps or a search like “tacos near me.” The person wants the menu, the hours, the address and a way to order or call, and they want it now. If the menu is a blurry PDF or the hours are wrong, they move on.

We design restaurant sites around those few things and make them load fast on a weak signal. The menu is real text on the page, not a photo of a printed menu, so it's readable on any screen, works with screen readers, and can be read by Google and AI assistants.

A menu your team can edit, in English and Spanish

Prices change, items sell out and specials rotate. You shouldn't need to call a web person for any of that. We give your staff a simple admin with their own logins, where they can edit items, prices, photos, specials and hours. The site updates right away.

If your guests speak English and Spanish, your menu can too. Each dish gets a name and description in both languages, written by someone who knows the food, not run through a translator. The same menu page works as a QR code menu at the table, so there's one menu to keep current instead of three.

Online ordering: keep your platforms or build your own

There are two honest ways to take orders online, and many restaurants use both.

The simplest is a clear button on every page that links to the ordering and delivery platforms you already use. You keep your current workflow and the site sends people there. The other is a restaurant website with online ordering built in: guests order and pay on your site, orders show up on a screen or tablet in the kitchen, and the customer list is yours. That's a custom web app for your restaurant, built on the same cart, checkout and order-status pieces we use for online stores.

Your own online ordering system makes the most sense when you have steady pickup orders, regulars who order every week, or catering orders that don't fit a delivery app. We talk through the trade-offs with you before you commit to either one.

Staff tools behind the site

The admin doesn't have to stop at the menu. We can add the tools your team uses every day and give each person a login with only the access they need.

Restaurant and Menu schema for Google and AI answers

Structured data is a small block of code that tells search engines exactly what's on the page. For restaurants we add Restaurant markup (name, cuisine, address, hours, phone, ordering link) and Menu markup (sections, items, descriptions and prices).

It helps in two ways. Google can match your site to your Business Profile and show accurate details in Search and Maps. And AI assistants that answer questions like “where can I get birria open late” read the same data, so your hours and dishes are more likely to be described correctly. We also make sure your name, address and phone are identical on your site and your Google Business Profile, which sounds basic but is often wrong. Our restaurant SEO and AI search optimization pick up from there.

How a restaurant site comes together

We start with a call about your menu, how you take orders today and who on your team will update the site. You get a written plan and quote. We build on a live preview link you can open on your phone and share with your staff, then launch on your domain.

If you'd like us to host it, our managed hosting and maintenance covers the domain, DNS, SSL and nightly off-site backups, with one person to contact when something needs fixing. The design work itself follows our restaurant website development process. Selling packaged food or merch too? See how we work with small online shops.

Frequently asked questions

Can my staff update the menu without calling you?

Yes. Staff get their own logins to an admin where they can change items, prices, photos, specials and hours, and changes show on the site right away. Roles let a manager edit the menu without access to account settings.

Can our menu be in English and Spanish?

Yes. Each item can have a name and description in both languages, and each language version of the site has its own pages so Google can show the right one. We write the Spanish with care, not with a translation tool.

Should I keep DoorDash or Uber Eats, or build my own ordering?

It depends on your orders. Many restaurants keep a delivery platform for reach and add their own ordering for pickup and catering, where they keep the customer relationship. We can link your current platforms from the site, build a custom ordering flow, or do both.

Will a new website help me show up on Google Maps?

Maps results come mostly from your Google Business Profile, not from your website alone. The site backs that profile up with a matching name, address, phone and hours, a menu Google can read, and Restaurant markup. We'll point out anything on your profile that doesn't match.

Can guests scan a QR code to see the menu?

Yes. The QR code points to the same menu page as your website, so when you change a price or mark an item sold out, the table menu updates too.
