Our web development process, step by step
Every project goes through five stages: discovery, scope, build on staged previews, launch, and hosting and care. You see real screens early, you approve before anything goes live, and you always know who to contact.
1. Discovery call
We start with a conversation about your business, not a sales pitch. We ask how leads come in today, what your team does by hand, which tools you already pay for and what isn't working. If you have a current site, we look at it before the call: its pages, how it's hosted and what Google can see.
You can book the call online or send us a message, in English or Spanish.
2. Scope and written quote
Next you get a written quote. It's the reference for the whole project, so it spells things out.
If the project is large, we split it into phases so you can launch the most useful part first and add the rest later.
- The pages and features we'll build
- Integrations: payments, CRM, email, AI
- The content we need from you
- What's not included
- A schedule for your project
- Who owns the domain, the code repository and the hosting accounts
3. Build on staged previews
Your project gets its own preview address on prosperflow.dev, such as yourname.prosperflow.dev. It updates as we work, so you click through real pages and screens on your phone and computer instead of judging static mockups. Preview sites are hidden from search engines, so they don't compete with your real site.
The code lives in a Git repository from day one. For apps, we set up staff roles and permissions early so you can test what each person will see.
- A preview link that updates as we build
- Feedback by email or on a call, whichever you prefer
- Demo data in admin screens until launch
- Code in a Git repository from the first day
4. Launch
Before launch we move your content, map every old URL to its new address with a 301 redirect, add structured data, a sitemap and robots.txt, and test every form. You approve the final preview. Then we switch it on. The technical SEO work done here is what lets an existing site keep what it has already earned in search.
- Point your domain and pick one main address, redirecting www and http to it
- Turn on SSL for every hostname
- Set up email records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) so your email keeps working
- Submit the sitemap in Google Search Console
- Check that old URLs redirect in a single hop
- Send a test lead through every form
5. Hosting and care
After launch we can host the project on our own servers or maintain it where it already runs. Hosting with us covers the domain, DNS, SSL, email records and nightly off-site backups, plus updates and fixes. When you want something new, like another city page, a new admin module or a CRM connection, you ask the same people who built it.
See managed hosting and website maintenance for what it covers.
What we'll need from you
A few things keep a project moving.
- One person on your side who can make decisions
- Access to your domain registrar and current hosting, or permission to request it
- Your logo, photos and any copy you want to keep
- Feedback on each preview, in whatever detail you have
- Logins for the tools we connect, like Stripe, GoHighLevel or Google Business Profile
Frequently asked questions
How long does each stage take?
It depends on the size of the project, so we don't quote generic timelines. Your written quote includes a schedule for your project, and the preview link shows exactly where things stand at any time.
How do I give feedback?
However suits you: email, a call, or notes on screenshots. We collect it and update the preview, so you can check each change on the live link.
What if I want to change something mid-project?
Tell us. If it fits the scope, we build it. If it doesn't, we explain how it changes the scope and schedule before we start on it.
Can we launch in phases?
Yes, and for larger projects we recommend it. A first phase might be the public website and lead form, with the admin, booking or store following once the site is live.
Can Google see my preview site?
No. Preview sites on prosperflow.dev are set to noindex, so search engines leave them out. Only your real domain gets indexed after launch.
