Technical SEO services for small business, from the people who build websites
Many SEO problems start in the code: slow pages, broken redirects, duplicate URLs, missing markup. We build websites for a living, so we fix the foundation first, then publish the pages your customers search for and show you the results in a dashboard you can read.
Technical SEO is the part many agencies hand off. We do it ourselves, in the code. On iLights Modern, we worked through what Search Console reported: H1 tags fixed, duplicate homepage URLs collapsed with 301 redirects, and fonts and scripts no longer loaded from third-party servers. On Tulip Landcare's rebuild, every old WordPress URL either kept its address or got a one-hop redirect, so the links pointing at the old pages still lead somewhere. The work covers:
Speed: lighter pages, compressed images, fewer third-party scripts and fonts, and server rendering where it helps.
Indexing and crawl errors: we work through Google Search Console's reports and fix pages that are blocked, missing or returning errors.
Redirects and canonical tags: one URL per page, one host, and 301 redirects that resolve in a single hop when addresses change.
Structured data: schema for your business type, services, FAQs, articles and breadcrumbs, validated before it ships.
Sitemaps and robots.txt: sitemaps that list only live pages, and crawl rules that don't block what you want found.
hreflang for bilingual sites: English and Spanish pages that point to each other correctly, so each language reaches the right searchers.
Site structure and on-page SEO
Search engines and customers both need to see what you do and where you do it. We plan the site around your real services and your real service area. For Rachelle's Cleaning Services we built city pages with distinct local content for each area, and on iLights Modern we added 10 city pages and rewrote the original 12 with copy specific to each city. On every site, that means:
Titles, meta descriptions and one clear H1 per page, written around what people search
A page for each main service, instead of one page that lists everything
Location pages only for cities you actually serve, each with its own content, not a copy with the name swapped
Internal links that connect related services, locations and articles
Content written for searchers, reviewed by a person
We research the questions your customers type and turn them into service pages, FAQs and articles. AI helps us draft faster, but every piece is edited by a person before it goes live, and you approve anything that makes a claim about your business. Nothing gets published just to fill a calendar. Thin or duplicate pages get merged or removed, because more pages isn't the same as better pages.
Local signals for service businesses
For businesses that serve customers in an area, a few signals carry extra weight. Reviews are one: we can set up automatic Google review requests so every happy customer gets asked, not only the ones someone remembers. Consistency is another: your business name, phone number, hours and service area should match on your site, your listings and your structured data. We check that and fix what lives on your site.
An SEO reporting dashboard you can read
We build custom SEO reporting dashboards from your Google Search Console data, so you aren't left decoding a long PDF. The numbers come straight from Google; we don't add vanity metrics or invented benchmarks. What you see:
Clicks and impressions from Google over time
The searches that bring people to your site, and the pages they land on
Average position for the searches that matter to your business
Pages with indexing problems, and whether they've been fixed
A plain-language list of the work done that month and what comes next
Bilingual SEO, English and Spanish
Spanish SEO isn't a translation job. People search differently in each language, and Spanish speakers in the US don't always use the same words as searchers in Mexico or Colombia. We research keywords in Spanish, write the Spanish pages natively, give them their own URLs and connect both versions with hreflang, so Google shows each person the right one.
How we work, month to month
Audit. We crawl the site, read Search Console, check speed and markup, and look at who ranks for your services.
Prioritized fix list. A written list ordered by impact and effort, so the important problems get fixed first.
Monthly work. Technical fixes, new and improved pages, internal links and markup, done in the code or your CMS.
Monthly report. Your dashboard updates as data comes in, and each month we summarize what changed and what we did.
SEO and AI visibility share most of the same groundwork. When you also want to show up in ChatGPT and Gemini, see AI search optimization. And if the site itself is what's holding you back, we can redesign and rebuild it.
Usually months, not weeks. Technical fixes can show up as soon as Google recrawls your pages, but new content and stronger positions build over time and depend on your competition. We won't promise a date; your dashboard shows what's moving.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No. Google decides rankings, and nobody outside Google controls them. Anyone who guarantees a first-page spot is guessing or taking risks with your site. What we commit to is the work in your plan and an honest report on it.
Do you work on sites you didn't build?
Yes. We start with an audit to see what your platform allows. WordPress, Wix and other builders can be improved, though some technical fixes are limited by the platform. If the platform turns out to be the main obstacle, we'll tell you; moving the site is an option, not a requirement.
What do I need to provide?
Access to Google Search Console and Google Analytics (or we set them up), access to your site or CMS, a list of your services and the areas you serve, and someone who can answer questions about the business and approve content.
Can you do SEO for a Spanish-only site?
Yes. We work on Spanish-only sites, English-only sites, or both versions together, with keyword research and writing done natively in each language.
